High-Temp Flooring Repairs
- Part 1 – Tough Areas
This factory had a major buildup of tar and grime from many years of processing. BGR Construction was contracted to tear out and replace the floor pitched to the drains.
- Part 2 – Demolition and Base
After the old tile was removed, Belzona 4154 bulk fill was used as a base to slope the new floor to the drains. Belzona 4154 bulk fill was used in lieu of concrete because it requires only 6-12 hours of cure time until it can be overcoated.
- Part 3 – Final Product
The final layer was placed on top of the bulk fill. This material, Belzona 4181, is used in high temperature and acidic conditions to protect the floor from future damage.
- Containment Area Construction
BGR Construction was contracted to build these two containment areas. The old coating was removed and walls constructed; the use of a specialty concrete mix allowed for a seven day turnaround on coating the area.
- Containment Area Coating
The containment areas were then poured, stripped ans seven days later coated with Belzona 5811 for acid resistance and to prevent chemicals from escaping.
- Small or Large
Containment areas can be small or large, and in this project the construction and coating were still effective in catching all spills.
